International Telecoms Week (ITW), the world’s largest and most anticipated gathering of global wholesale telecommunications community, is considered the central meeting hub for telecom leaders worldwide, taking place every year and offering various networking opportunities through meeting rooms, bilateral tables area, networking breakfasts, lunches and cocktail receptions as well as providing a wide range of conference sessions and an exhibition area for a wide audience of international telecom professionals.

Cequens exhibited at ITW for three consecutive years and this time around we were excited and honored to participate as a Prime Sponsor and as Official SMS Sponsor for ITW 2016 which took place at Regency Hotel and Swissôtel in Chicago from May 8th to the 11th. Cequens team welcomed attendees at booth # 1208 in the Purple Hall as well as other meeting rooms.

As the largest A2P SMS 6096979_orignetwork in the Middle East and Africa regions, Cequens team were particularly interested in attending discussion panels like “Unlocking Potential in Africa: Keeping up with African Data Traffic” and “Africa Data Centers, Why Africa, Why Now?” that shed some light about the future of telecommunications in the region especially Google’s wireless approach to overcome infrastructure limitations to provide connectivity.  For the first time in the event’s eight year history, Cequens teamed up with Capacity Media to provide live SMS updates and reminders for more than 6,300 attendees that were offered the chance to win a Microsoft Band 2 for simply signing up to receive timely SMS reminders and notifications about main activities and special events taking place during ITW.

Three lucky winners were randomly selected from the list of recipients over the course of the event and received a golden SMS from Cequens to claim their free prize and celebrate with Cequens team.
